Objectives
The primary objective of a Post Diploma in Industrial Safety is to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure workplace safety, prevent accidents, and comply with safety regulations in industries
The key objectives include:
- Understanding safety regulations familiarizing with national and international safety laws, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Hazard identification and risk assessment learning methods to identify potential workplace hazards and assess risks.
- Accident prevention and investigation gaining skills to prevent accidents and conduct investigations when they occur.
- Fire and emergency management training in fire prevention, firefighting techniques, and emergency response planning.
- Occupational health and industrial hygiene understanding workplace health hazards and measures to maintain employee well-being.
- Safe handling of machinery and equipment learning about machine guarding, material handling, and safety protocols in industrial operations.
- Environmental safety and sustainability ensuring compliance with environmental laws and promoting sustainable industrial practices.
- Developing a safety culture encouraging safe work practices and training employees on workplace safety.
Outcomes
After successfully completing this course, the learners will be able to
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO 45001, and other workplace safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement hazard control measures.
- Perform safety audits and workplace inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Develop and enforce safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Organize safety training programs for employees on PPE usage, fire safety, and emergency response.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct fire drills.
- Monitor and ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain records of safety incidents, inspections, and compliance reports.
- Coordinate with government agencies and internal teams for regulatory compliance.

The experience shall be counted after acquiring the requisite qualification and should be as under
- Experience should be in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Safety, Health or Hygiene, Fire or Environment Department of an industry or working as Professional.
- OR
- Experience in Research, Training or Education in the field of Safety, Health or Hygiene, Fire or Environment or Engineering or Technology.
- OR
- Experience in a Government Department in Administration of Industrial Safety, Health, Hygiene, or Environmental legislation or in Public Health Department.

The course will be conducted through class room sessions, Online and Offline lectures, Discussions, Industrial visits, etc. The students are required to carry out one Project work during the course of the programme as a requirement under the syllabus.
